Q2. Why did you decide to move to Aldeby ?

Nearer to place of work.

I left the RAF and was offered the option of a barn conversion close to relatives. It was a beautiful location close to the Norfolk Broads.

Q3. What (since you have moved in) has been done to the villages advantage ?

The building of the bypass.

Improved bus service.

Being in a broads conservation area it has not had a great population explosion due to building regulations, so it has remained a rural area, and a quiet location.

Q4. What (since you have moved in) has been done to the villages disadvantage ?

The end of the Waveny Apple Growers (apple factory).

Loss of the apple factory, Reduction of hours in the post office.

The village shop has been closed which means a four mile journey to beccles is required for essential food and supplies.

Q5. What changes would you like to see happen to the village?

Continued support for buses, Better support locally for old and infirm, Expansion of light industry, Village to have more local employment.

Q6. What changes do you think will happen in the future?

I do not see much change in the future because it will be some years before any scale of building is permitted.

Decline in unemployment in agriculture.

House prices will get very high. With global warming causing Aldeby to become an island.
